The Charity Foundation “Team4UA” took part in a two-day intensive training for professionals working with internally displaced persons and people affected by the war.
Within the joint project, the training was organized by the NGO “Integration Center” – a partner of the TERA Consortium, which works on case management and the support of internally displaced persons in the Rivne region.
The event brought together more than 60 representatives of local communities, temporary accommodation sites for IDPs, social services, Resilience Centers, civil society organizations, and other support services.
Over two days, participants worked on topics of crisis response, case management, needs assessment, psychosocial support, interagency cooperation, and trauma-informed communication. The training was based on practical experience of working with people evacuated from conflict-affected areas, as well as real-life cases from community work.
A separate session was delivered by representatives of the Main Department of the National Social Service in the Rivne region. They presented recent updates in social protection legislation, specific features of social service delivery, as well as mechanisms for identifying and responding to cases of domestic violence.
The training also involved Vita Kocherhanova, Feedback Officer at Team4UA, and Vasylisa Krushynska, PSEA Officer at Team4UA.
During the session, they discussed the people-centered approach, safety, and feedback mechanisms within the monitoring visit. They also focused on practices that help improve the quality of humanitarian services and better integrate people’s needs into the planning and implementation of support programs.
The Deputy Head of the Rivne Regional State Administration, Liudmyla Shatkivska, emphasized the importance of such initiatives for those working directly with people:
The people-centered approach in humanitarian work starts with listening to people and taking their experience into account. Feedback helps not only improve services but also make them safer and more accessible for those who receive them
