On August 13, the CF “Team4UA” team took part in a large-scale Regional Dialogue in Lviv dedicated to challenges and practical solutions in supporting internally displaced persons across western regions of Ukraine. The event was organized by the Ukraine Shelter Cluster with support from the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) in Ukraine.
Sophia Furtak, Protection Services Coordinator, and Ihor Kabat, CCCM Liaison Officer at Team4UA, joined the group discussions.
The meeting brought together representatives from regional state and military administrations across six oblasts (Lviv, Rivne, Volyn, Ternopil, Chernivtsi, and Zakarpattia), alongside international and Ukrainian humanitarian organizations.
During the sessions, participants discussed the future and management of temporary accommodation centers (TACs), inclusivity and accessibility of shelters for persons with disabilities, as well as a comprehensive approach to humanitarian repairs – from needs assessment to direct implementation. During a practical World Café session, experts analyzed case studies on providing basic non-food items (NFI), rental assistance, and technical documentation management during repair works.
Commenting on the outcomes of the meeting, Ihor Kabat emphasized:
“Transitioning from temporary accommodation of IDPs to sustainable housing solutions is a challenge that requires joint efforts from both the humanitarian sector and government authorities. For Team4UA, participating in this dialogue is an essential step toward coordinating our actions with partners, improving the quality of humanitarian repairs, and creating genuinely accessible, inclusive environments for people who have lost their homes.”
