How a mobile team supported evacuation and helped a family be together again

Volodymyr and his 87-year-old mother were evacuated from Kostiantynivka in September 2025. Before the war, he worked as an academic vocal teacher at a local arts school. They arrived in Rivne region by evacuation train.

Upon arrival, they were accommodated separately: his mother in a geriatric department of a regional care institution, and Volodymyr in a village in another district. They did not see each other for months.

A mobile team of our partner, NGO “Integration Centre” took the case into support. In coordination with the Department of Social and Veterans Policy of Rivne City Council and the Department of Social Policy of Rivne Regional State Administration, the team facilitated IDP documentation and secured accommodation close to the facility where his mother resides.

Recently, they were reunited. Supporting evacuated families requires sustained, coordinated action well beyond the moment of evacuation.

The mobile team operates within the TERA Consortium in partnership with Rivne Regional State Administration, within the framework of the TERA Consortium with the financial support of the Ukraine Humanitarian Fund (UHF).
