Vacancy: Accountant

1. Background

Amidst the ongoing war, TEAM4UA implements multi-sectoral humanitarian projects to support vulnerable populations. The IMPACT project requires transparent financial management and strict reporting. The Accountant plays a key role in maintaining records, ensuring compliance with Ukrainian legislation and donor requirements.

2. Purpose of the Assignment

The Accountant is responsible for maintaining accurate accounting records for project activities, ensuring proper documentation, and supporting financial reporting. This position ensures financial integrity and transparency in accordance with UA Accounting Standards and internal procedures.

3. Key Responsibilities

A. Accounting and Records Management

  • Record transactions related to non-current assets, inventory, supplier settlements, and staff settlements (including expense reports).
  • Manage accounting for targeted funding, income, expenses, and fuel consumption for rented vehicles.
  • Perform entries in the BAS Accounting system strictly based on verified primary documents.
  • Ensure compliance with UA Accounting Standards (P (S)BU) and the Tax Code of Ukraine.

B. Compliance and Financial Control

  • Monitor asset disposal, transfer, and charitable assistance accounting.
  • Ensure accuracy of financial records and maintain readiness for audits.

C. Inventory and Asset Management

  • Participate in inventory counts at field offices and separate units.
  • Prepare and document inventory results and ensure their proper reflection in accounting records.

D. Reporting and Documentation

  • Prepare supporting notes for financial and tax reporting.
  • Collect project expenditure data for donor reports.
  • Support the preparation of documentation required for audits.

E. Archiving

  • Prepare primary documentation for physical and electronic archiving.

F. Systems and Tools

  • Work with systems: BAS Accounting, M.E.Doc, Vchasno, Excel.

G. Other Responsibilities

  • Perform tasks assigned by the Chief Accountant and support the finance team in daily operations.

4. Expected Deliverables

  • Accurate and timely accounting records.
  • Properly documented financial transactions.
  • Compliance with Ukrainian legislation and donor requirements.
  • Well-maintained financial archives.

5. Qualifications and Experience

Education:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related field.

Experience:

  • Minimum 3 years of professional experience in accounting.
  • Mandatory experience with BAS Accounting.
  • Experience in the NGO / non-profit sector is an advantage.

Technical Skills:

  • Strong knowledge of UA Accounting Standards, Tax Code, and Chart of Accounts.
  • Proficiency in Excel and electronic document management systems.

Languages:

  • Fluency in Ukrainian.
  • Working knowledge of English (preferred).

6. Competencies

  • Attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Responsibility and integrity.
  • Ability to work within a team and meet strict deadlines.

7. Reporting Line

The Accountant reports directly to the Chief Accountant and works closely with finance and project teams.

8. Duration and Duty Station

Duration: 6 months, with possible extension subject to funding.

Duty station: Lviv, Ukraine.

Working hours: Monday-Friday, 9:00—18:00.
