“Posmishka UA” Charitable Foundation has launched psychosocial support and protection services for people affected by the war

As part of the joint project, “Posmishka UA” Charitable Foundation, a member of the TERA Consortium, has launched activities under the psychosocial support and protection component.

War puts people’s resilience to the test every day. Constant anxiety, forced displacement, living under shelling, concern for loved ones, and uncertainty about the future affect not only physical safety but also emotional well-being. That is why, within the IMPACT project “Immediate Multisectoral Priority Assistance to Conflict-Affected Areas,” Posmishka UA Charitable Foundation has started implementing psychosocial support and protection activities for people affected by the war.

Assistance is provided to residents of frontline communities, internally displaced and evacuated people, as well as everyone affected by attacks and the consequences of the war.

To ensure that support is accessible to those who need it most, the project includes the work of mobile teams. Currently, two mobile teams operate in Zaporizhzhia Oblast and one in Donetsk Oblast.

As part of this component, psychosocial support activities and awareness-raising sessions are conducted, individual psychological consultations are provided, and case management for survivors of violence is carried out. Particular attention is given to working with children, adolescents, and their caregivers.

The main goal of this work is to help people restore their inner resources, cope with stress and anxiety, and find sources of support in difficult life circumstances. During the sessions, participants become familiar with practical self-support tools, learn more about their reactions to stress, and develop skills to better care for their emotional well-being.

The first activities have already taken place. One of them was the awareness-raising session “Basic Ph: Essential Skills and Techniques for Times of Stress.”

The aim of the session was to help participants better understand their own ways of coping with stress, introduce them to the Basic Ph model, and identify their personal channels of resilience. During the session, participants not only gained new knowledge but also had the opportunity to immediately put it into practice.

Particular attention was paid to self-help techniques that can be used in everyday life to reduce stress and emotional tension. Through creative exercises, participants explored their own sources of strength, restored a sense of stability, and reminded themselves of the resources that help them move forward even in difficult times.

Today, psychosocial support is no less important than humanitarian assistance. It helps people avoid facing their struggles alone, find support, restore emotional balance, and maintain the ability to cope with daily challenges.

The Posmishka UA team continues to work alongside communities to ensure that support remains accessible to those who need it most.

These activities are implemented by Posmishka UA Charitable Foundation within the framework of the TERA Consortium and with financial support from the Ukraine Humanitarian Fund (UHF). The TERA Consortium was established by Team4UA Charitable Foundation.
